LAWRENCE, Kan. — April 28, 2020 — Cobalt Iron Inc., a leading provider of SaaS-based enterprise data protection, today announced that the company's Compass™ solution has been selected as one of DCIG's Top 5 Enterprise Anti-Ransomware Backup Solutions.

Cobalt Iron Compass had been named a DCIG Top 5 Enterprise Anti-Ransomware Backup SolutionCompass is Cobalt Iron's flagship SaaS-based enterprise data protection platform, offering enterprise backup and recovery, operation, administration, and protection of data from cyber threats. DCIG's Top 5 Enterprise Anti-Ransomware Backup Solutions criteria included solutions that can detect, prevent, and/or recover from a ransomware attack and meet the expected backup and recovery requirements of large enterprises.

"Expectations as to the features that an enterprise backup solution should offer often come about due to technology advancements," said Jerome Wendt, president and founder of DCIG LLC. BenQ Adds Budget-Friendly, Filter-Free Laser Projector Models to BlueCore Family

Posted by Press Release on Apr 15, 2020

COSTA MESA, Calif. — April 15, 2020 — BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of visual display and collaboration solutions, has expanded its BlueCore laser projector lineup with the launch of new 4,000- and 5,000-lumen models. The LU710 and LU930 offer WUXGA resolution while the LH710 and LH930 boast 1080p resolution, allowing organizations to update their meeting rooms with state-of-the-art BlueCore laser technology that fits the budget. Furthering the value of the LU and LH series, they eliminate the cost of replacing lamps used by lamp-based projectors, as well as the time spent cleaning filters with an IP5X-sealed and certified filter-free chassis that protects against dust.

"BenQ created the first-available commercial laser projector in 2012," said Carly Burton-Sallay, digital marketing manager at BenQ America Corp. "Since that time, our engineers have worked tirelessly to develop higher-quality images at more affordable prices. Our LU and LH BlueCore series projectors enable every IT manager to swap out their legacy projectors and affordably upgrade to a high-brightness laser. With the same dust-protection certification earned by the most popular mobile and smart watch technology, they offer the the ultimate package for superior presentations and collaboration with the benefit of a lower total cost of ownership."

Laser Focused on Brightness, Performance, and Durability
BenQ's LU710, LU930, LH710, and LH930 all feature BenQ's renowned BlueCore IP5X-certified, dustproof, filter-free laser engine for long-lasting brightness, durability, and precise color that boosts productivity and efficiency. Each projector features BenQ's precision-aligned high-output laser source, which is guaranteed for 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation, saving costs for lamp replacement and maintenance. Based on the average brightness cutoff of typical long-life lamps, BlueCores's value exceeds that of 10 lamp replacements over the life of the projector. The projector's DLP chip is hermetically sealed so that it can resist heat for over 100,000 hours without degradation. In addition, the engine has earned an international dustproof protection rating of IP5X, ensuring dust doesn't damage the projector.

Built for Users
The new BlueCore laser projectors also feature Rec. 709 color coverage. By increasing color ratios, they dramatically enhance color saturation to ensure superior presentation quality. The laser-enabled high contrast furthers color performance, creating strikingly clear images for true deep blacks, vividly rich colors, and fine subtle details.

It's a well-known fact that light helps keep meeting participants alert and attentive. With the LU710 (WUXGA) and LH710 (1080p) offering 4,000 ANSI lumen brightness and the LU930 (WUXGA) and LH930 (1080p) delivering 5,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, these projectors are capable of producing clear images in both dark and well-lit spaces. Further enhancing presentations is BenQ's new LumiExpert™ technology, which automatically detects the ambient light conditions of the room and adjusts the projector's brightness to maximize clarity and comfort.

In addition, colorful presentations with abundant visual aids can help employees retain meeting content up to 82% more effectively, while text that's clearly legible can boost focus and increase attention spans. This is why each projector features an advanced Infographic Mode that's perfect for enlivening the graphics and stylish text used in modern presentations. Infographic Mode offers enhanced brightness and better color gradation for eye-friendly presentations that are guaranteed to make idea-sharing more precise. Meanwhile, the Vivid Mode is a great choice for emphasizing colorful imagery when displaying video or photos. The BlueCore laser projectors power up in half the time and with less power consumption versus lamp-based projectors. The signal power-on feature turns the projector on automatically once an input signal from VGA or HDMI is detected. Users don't have to wait around and can get started right away.

Wireless Capability for Enhanced Flexibility
Compatible with BenQ's InstaShow wireless presentation system, organizations can also instantly turn any meeting room into a wireless-friendly environment for everyone to collaborate onscreen. BenQ's InstaShow is a plug-and-play, zero-software solution that allows up to 32 participants to present from any device — PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and more. InstaShow also supports both the 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and WPA2 authentication protocol to ensure that corporate intellectual property remains private and safe from tampering or unintended disclosure.

Designed for Easy, Centralized Control and Management
With BenQ's exclusive centralized control software, IT personnel can remotely manage an entire network of projectors from a single centralized location via the local network. Offering powerful scheduling and configuration features and remote on/off capabilities, BenQ's centralized control software makes it easy to monitor and control the projectors as a group or individually. They're also compatible with an assortment of control systems, including AMX, Creston, Extron, and PJ Link. This makes it easy to integrate each of these projectors into existing systems and ensure they're running smoothly.

Cobalt Iron Helps Companies 'Make the Switch Without the Risk' to Enable Remote Backup

Posted by Press Release on Apr 7, 2020

LAWRENCE, Kan. — April 7, 2020 — Cobalt Iron Inc. today announced the "Make the Switch Without the Risk" program for backup professionals working from home and other remote locations. The special promotion extends Cobalt Iron's Compass™ enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) data protection solution to new customers for the same price they're currently paying for service and support contracts on their existing backup systems, with no payments or interest in 2020.

"A wide range of enterprises have already been advancing toward a more remote work culture as teams have become more globalized. But now, with the coronavirus pandemic, many companies are scrambling to make the transition to remote backup operations in a highly compressed time frame," said Andy Hurt, chief marketing officer, Cobalt Iron. "In the face of the largest global crisis since World War II, the last thing companies should have to worry about is effective backup deployment, operation, administration, and protection of data from cyber threats."

He added: "By allowing organizations to modernize their backup infrastructure for a nominal investment, this promotion will help them to keep data secure and ensure business continuity — even when administrators can't be physically present at the data center. Migrating to Compass can bring them capex reductions of up to 50% and opex savings up to 90%. And, they'll reap the benefits of near-autonomous operations, industry-leading cyber security, ransomware protection, and support for legacy and modern workloads."

The Make the Switch Without the Risk program enables enterprises to migrate to Compass with zero incremental increase in software costs, and no payment or interest in 2020, and it also offers deep discounts on optimized hardware and multiple financing options. Cobalt Iron will provide remote deployment, setup, and configuration. The offer is available through members of Cobalt Iron's IronClad Partner Advantage program.

"It's easy to monitor and manage backups from any location using Compass' web-based user interface. But in addition to remote access, there are plenty of other compelling reasons to migrate to Compass under this program," said Hurt. "For no more than their current support and maintenance costs, organizations can upgrade to a backup solution that supports private, hybrid, and public cloud deployments. And, rather than leave security and ransomware protection as an afterthought or add-on, we've woven the industry's most advanced cyber security measures into the fabric of Compass."

InSync Technology to Offer Live Standards Conversion of UHD Video Streams in the Cloud

Posted by Press Release on Apr 7, 2020

PETERSFIELD, U.K. — April 7, 2020 — InSync Technology today announced that the company is augmenting its popular FrameFormer Link software standards conversion engine with support for motion compensated frame rate conversion of live video streams.

The new FrameFormer Link Live tool kit can be integrated into any live production automation or workflow management platform through its open API and can support live conversion of all formats up to and including UHD/4K. It can be deployed on premises or in any cloud environment and requires CPU-only processing, which is the optimum approach when instant availability of compute resources and scalability are key.

As broadcasters and service providers increasingly look to host live event production and distribution in the cloud, FrameFormer Link Live fills one of the few remaining gaps in terms of the content processing chain.

"We are bringing the unique ability to apply motion compensated frame rate conversion to live UHD streams in the cloud," said Daryl Blair, Marketing Director of InSync Technology Ltd. "This evolution of our popular FrameFormer software engine can be easily integrated into any customer, partner, or service providers' platform for the highest-quality conversions."

InSync Technology is currently working with a number of SaaS partners and expects the first availability of a cloud-based integrated service for live motion compensated frame rate conversion this summer.
